The Importance of Arts fostering Jane Alexander, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), once utter, Many children are missing out on something which gives their education context, gives their lives depth and meaning, and prepares them to be the upcoming workforce. This something that she spoke of is music and prowess education. Unfortunately, she is entirely correct. We are currently eyesight in our country a dramatic cut in humanistic discipline education curriculum in our public schools due to the limited sum total of both time and funding. In many cases budget cutbacks mean humanistic discipline education cutbacks. This limited amount of resources often forces administrators to place a prize on the various subject areas. There is always a train for greater concentration upon the traditional introductorys English, math, science, and history. There is also a new focus on computer competency and a regenerate focus on the need for foreign language education. Add to this health education, family life education, industrial humanistic discipline education, AIDS education, home economics, physical education, and channel education and one begins to wonder where humanities education fits in. Every schoolchild in the country should have an education in the arts. This is the opening disceptation of The Value and Quality of Arts Education A Statement of Principles, a document from the nations ten most important educational organizations. The basic message is that music and art programs in the schools help our kids and communities in real and substantial ways. There is an abundant amount of facts and information that supports this statement. The benefits of arts education can be narrowed down into 4 basic categories success in developing intelligence, success in ... ...ls. There is so much that can be gained from arts education. It is imperative that music and art education remains in public schools. Because, even though it has been said many times before, the fact remains that the arts enrich us all. Arts education opens doors that help children pass from school in to the realness around them a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes the arts.
